What are the HSC Exam Preparation Programs?
Our HSC Exam Preparation Programs are an incredible experience that bring the HSC to life. Over several days, be guided through in-depth parts of the syllabus & maximise HSC exam marks through hands-on practice of exam style questions.
Who are the programs for?
Our HSC Exam Preparation Programs aim to assist Year 12 students enrolled in the New South Wales HSC (Higher School Certificate). Accelerated Year 11 students and educators seeking training & development may also register.
How do the programs work?
To access any Sci School service, you must first sign up for a free Sci School ID. You will receive an automated email with a unique URL to activate your account (see below if you cannot find the validation email). Once signed in, you may use the online Cart for all program registrations. All program registrants are emailed both a Payment Invoice & a Confirmation of Registration. Your account will be updated with access to the program notes, which remain accessible online after the conclusion of the programs.
How do the webcasts work?
The webcasts are high-definition recordings of previous programs held at the University of Sydney. To order a webcast, you must first sign up for an online Sci School account. After purchasing your webcasts, your account is updated with access to the webcast videos divided by syllabus topic, which remain accessible until the conclusion of the HSC exams. There are no restrictions on the number of times you choose to view them.
When & where are the programs?
Our HSC Exam Preparation Programs are running 9:00am-5:00pm each weekend betweeen Saturday 23 September & Sunday 1 October, 2017. The full breakdown of topics may be found on our Schedule page. The programs are held at Governor Phillip Tower, 1 Farrer Place, Sydney, and interactively streamed online via our LiveStream service. More details about this are outlined on our LiveStream page.
What will the programs cover?
Our programs cover four core subjects in-depth: Mathematics (2 Unit), Mathematics Ext. 1 (3 Unit), Chemistry, & Physics. Each course comprises full-day sessions which incorporate an interactive lecture style & comprehensively covers syllabus dot-points of key examinable material, as well as hands-on practice of exam-styled questions. Will there be opportunities to ask questions at the programs?
Yes! In fact, we do our very best to create an interactive atmosphere & encourage questions.
How much do the programs & webcasts cost?
Program full-day registrations are $139.99 (inc. GST) per subject. Webcasts of previous lectures held at Sydney University are $49.99 (inc. GST) per subject.
Are the programs or webcasts translated?
All programs & webcasts are given in English only.
Do I need to have registered in advance in order to attend?
No, but we encourage advanced registrations to secure your place. We cannot guarantee availability where sessions reach capacity. We may process registrations in the 15 minute timeslot prior to commencement of each program. Please note that only credit card payments may be processed on the day (cash payments will not be accepted).
Are program registrations or webcast orders refundable?
No, all program registrations & webcast orders are final. However, we encourage you to email our friendly team at email@example.com & we'll do what we can to help.
Do I need any software to access the Livestream?
No. Our Livestream is hosted by Adobe Connect, which uses Adobe Flash included by default in all popular web broswers. For Apple mobile devices, which do not run Adobe Flash, the Adobe Connect app is freely downloadable from the Apple App Store.
Do I need to bring anything to the programs?
On the day you will receive a printed copy of the lecture notes. Please bring a notebook or spare paper and any data & formula sheets relevant to your course (you'll be using them to practice exam-style quesitons). It's also a great idea to bring stationery, calculators, bottled water, food, & money for anything you may wish to purchase from the nearby cafes during the break.
What if I am not available on the day of a program session?
All programs are recorded as high-definition webcasts & available as a further online resource for you.
I completed the online sign-up, but where is the automated email to activate my account?
Your validation email may be in your Junk/Spam folder. Add firstname.lastname@example.org to your contacts to ensure all future emails are delivered straight to your Inbox. If you're having any problems, please email us immediately & we'll fix everything right up.
I received my payment invoice but where is my Confirmation of Registration
Your Confirmation of Registration email may be in your Junk/Spam folder. You can also access your Confirmation of Registration from the Purchase History of your Sci School account.
